Cheltenham Croquet Under 18 group
Cheltenham Croquet Club has an enthusiastic Under 18 group open to young people aged between 7 and 17. We meet on Sunday afternoons. In summer it is usually from 1.00pm -3.00pm. In winter the session is shorter due to the weather .
In our sessions we:
- find out about keeping safe when playing croquet
- listen and respond to other members of the group including the adults
- learn the skills we need to play croquet and during each session we practise the skills we have learnt which we then use in our games.
- find out about simple etiquette on and off the lawns
- learn about faults and penalties
- play fun games sometimes in teams
- usually finish the afternoon with squash and a biscuit
The club can also provide coaching for Duke of Edinburgh awards.
Parents are welcome to stay and watch. If they wish to play it's important that they check with Naomi Whitehead, the Under 18 Coordinator whether it is convenient. Naomi will arrange, when possible, to give the parent a taste of the game with a club helper at the same time
Naomi holds a DBS Enhanced certificate. She is also a Grade 1 coach and is a Licensed Coach under the Safeguarding requirements
