Throughout the year, there are ample opportunities for competitive croquet play for all ability levels. See Cheltenham's Fixture List for everything that is going on.
The Club hosts many tournaments, both AC and GC, that are open to all Croquet England members. Players may enter these events via the Tournament Entry System (TES) on the CqE website. Please look at the CqE Fixtures Calendar to find out further details such as dates, eligibility criteria etc.
Some tournaments, generally taking place during Festival Week, are exclusively for Club members. The following season long competitions run from March to September and are also exclusively for Club members (who may use the Competitions Entry button below to sign up to play).
ASSOCIATION CROQUET
A Class (Edgar Jackson Trophy): advanced play singles, handicap 1.5 and below.
B Class (Isobel Roe Trophy): advanced play singles, handicap 2 to 6, eligible for A Class.
C Class (Chelsea Tankard): advanced play singles, handicap 7 to 12, eligible for B Class.
D class (Gladstone Trophy): handicap play singles, base 10, handicap 14+, eligible for C Class.
MacKay (MacKay Bowl): handicap play singles, full bisque, any handicap.
Cheltenham Handicap (Club Challenge Bowl): handicap play singles, any handicap.
Curtis Webb (Curtis Webb Salvers): handicap play doubles, any handicap but one player to be 7+.
Sturdy Seniors (Sturdy Cup): handicap play singles, age 70+, any handicap.
AC Rabbits: 14 point handicap play singles, base 10 full bisque, for beginners.
Blumer (Blumer Cup): 14 point handicap play singles, any handicap (winter).
Short Croquet (Moliver Dish)
One-Ball (Edgeler Trophy): handicap play singles, any handicap. See Calculating your One-Ball handicap.
GOLF CROQUET
A Level (Foulser Salver): level play singles, handicap 2 and below.
B Level (Bennett Bowl): level play singles, handicap 3 to 6.
C Level (Barter Gold Star): level play singles, handicap 7 to 9.
D Level (Gilden Trophy): handicap play (target scores) singles, handicap 10+.
GC Handicap (Oldham Salver): handicap play (target scores) singles, any handicap.
GC Doubles (Barwell Salvers): handicap play (target scores) doubles, any handicap but one player to be 7+.
GC Seniors: handicap play (target scores) singles, age 70+, any handicap.
GC Rabbits: level play singles, for beginners.
GC Winter Handicap: handicap play (target scores) singles, any handicap (winter).
